How can research on Arab/MENA communities move beyond academic scholarship to shape public policy, strengthen advocacy, and address the needs of the communities being studied?

Join us for a special webinar with Dr. James Zogby, whose decades of leadership, research, and advocacy have helped bring Arab American and MENA perspectives into national conversations about public policy and civic life. Drawing on his extensive experience in research, public opinion, community advocacy, and policy engagement, Dr. Zogby will offer a historical and practical perspective on the relationship between scholarship and policy change.

The webinar will explore how researchers and scholars can translate their work into meaningful policy recommendations and advocacy efforts. The discussion is especially designed for AMENA-Psy members who may have little or no formal background in policy work or advocacy, but want their scholarship to have a greater impact beyond academia.

Dr. Zogby will reflect on the history of policy efforts affecting Arab American and MENA communities and discuss lessons from his advocacy work through the Arab American Institute (AAI). This webinar offers a unique opportunity to learn from one of the most prominent voices in Arab American advocacy about how scholarship can become a resource for public engagement and policy change.
