2024 AMENA-PSY CONFERENCE

The American Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African Psychological Association (AMENA-Psy) is hosting our 5th Annual AMENA-Psy Conference. The conference is designed to balance the delivery of content and the opportunity for interactive discussion between attendees and presenters in a virtual environment. We invite AMENA-Psy members and non-members to join us!

The theme of this year's conference is: Decolonial Visions: Considering Past & Present as We Co-create a Just and Sustainable Future.

We root our theme foremost in the original use of decolonial frameworks as it pertains to indigenous people’s pursuit for rehumanization, empowerment and liberation from historical systems of oppression and control. This year’s conference seeks to illuminate how Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) psychologists can break down walls within our field to build a decolonial future together.

As such, we call for proposals that highlight MENA psychology research and practice that speaks to historical and transgenerational trauma and resilience, present realities, future possibilities, and everything in-between. We invite work that highlights solidarities both among MENA peoples and in communion with other marginalized groups. We welcome and encourage work that centers MENA psychology and experience, and pertains to clinical practice, research, and community work with MENA populations, and MENA psychology professional growth.

We invite seasoned researchers and clinicians, as well as early career professionals, students, activists, and artists to submit material whether fully developed, in-progress or in early stages of creation.

We encourage individuals from all fields of psychology, including educational/school, social, health, developmental, community, I/O, counseling, clinical, international, and beyond, to submit proposals. Submissions from multidisciplinary, international, and student scholars are welcome!
