Welcome to the AMENA-Psy Student Committee Home Page!

The AMENA-Psy Student Committee is an innovative group committed to building a strong community that promotes the success of its student members.

The mission of the AMENA-Psy Student Committee is to initiate, develop, and provide resources and support related to scholarship, mentorship, career development, and other student issues for Arab/MENA students in psychology within the United States.

Student Members are psychology students who identify as MENA or are interested in MENA psychology-related topics.

Applications for AMENA-Psy Student Committee

The Student Committee is a group of students committed to supporting, educating, and advocating for graduate and undergraduate psychology students of Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African (MENA) backgrounds. As a Student Committee member, you will have a personal hand in developing and contributing to ongoing projects and initiatives. These efforts serve and support Arab/MENA students throughout their academic journeys and advance knowledge, research, and practice with Arab/MENA populations overall. We welcome the opportunity to work with passionate and driven student leaders to achieve these overarching goals.

To date, the Student Committee has worked together to implement new programming and support for our student members, including a Mentorship Program, student-only listserv, Communi-Tea Time Zoom gatherings, and an Internship Working Group.

The Student Committee is particularly looking for team-oriented students interested in leadership! Students will have the opportunity to initiate and lead a project, with all members contributing to all projects. We encourage students of all years to apply. Experience in the committee can prepare members to take on more advanced leadership positions in future years!
