Executive Board Positions

The AMENA-PSY EXECUTIVE BOARD POSITIONS

President (2-year term) The President must be a Full Member of AMENA-Psy who holds a doctorate in psychology. The President will take the lead in working towards achieving the mission and objectives of the association and exercise general supervision of the affairs of AMENA-Psy including presiding over Executive Board meetings and approving budget and plans.

President-Elect (2-year term) followed by a 2-year term as President. The President-Elect must be a Full Member of AMENA-Psy who holds a doctorate in psychology. The President-Elect will be an active member of the Executive Board, take leadership in some organizational tasks, and preside over Executive Board meetings in the absence of President. At the end of this term, the President-Elect will begin a term as President.

Secretary (3-year term) The secretary must be a Full Member of AMENA-Psy. The Secretary will coordinate with the President to arrange Executive Board meetings (call for meetings, manage meeting agendas, document minutes), establish and maintain records for the organization, inform membership of actions taken by the Executive Board, communicate with the public on matters involving AMENA-Psy, and oversee publications of the association.

Treasurer (3-year term) The Treasurer must be a Full Member of AMENA-Psy. The Treasurer will have custody of all AMENA-Psy funds, collect and verify membership dues and assessments, prepare an annual budget for adoption by the Executive Board, prepare annual and interim reports, and authorize disbursements and make payments in accordance with the budget and the rules set forth by the Executive Board.

Member-at-Large - Research/Education (2-year term) The Member-at-Large - Research/Education must be a Full Member of AMENA-Psy who holds a doctorate in psychology. The Member-at-Large - Research/Education will take the lead in achieving the “Science and Research” and “Public Education and Awareness” objectives of the association through preparing an annual plan for adoption by the Executive Board, establishing committees, monitoring progress on projects, and preparing annual and interim reports.

Member-at-Large - Practice/Applied (2-year term) The Member-at-Large - Practice/Applied must be a Full Member of AMENA-Psy who holds a doctorate in psychology. The Member at Large - Practice/Applied will take the lead in achieving the “Advocacy and Policy” and “Practice and Psychological Well-Being of AMENA Communities” objectives of the association through preparing an annual plan for adoption by the Executive Board, establishing committees, monitoring progress on projects, and preparing annual and interim reports.

Member-at-Large - Student (2-year term) The Member-at-Large - Student must be a Graduate Student Member of AMENA-Psy with at least one year remaining as a student at time of nomination. The Member-at-Large - Student will support students with professional development opportunities and networking, and develop activities that would be of benefit to students, through preparing an annual plan for adoption by the Executive Board, developing and monitoring progress on projects, and preparing annual and interim reports.
