STUDENT AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Marhaba! Ho?geldiniz! Welcome! One of the biggest benefits of being a member of AMENA-Psy is the opportunity to network with other Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African colleagues, as well as colleagues interested in researching and working with these populations. Resources for student and professional development are needed in order to grow and strengthen the Arab/MENA psychological workforce and produce more research and interventions that can support Arab/MENA communities. AMENA-Psy offers opportunities to interact with and collaborate with colleagues on the listserv, and network at meetings at the APA convention and other events. We are also committed to providing our student members with the resources, professional development, and support network to be involved in meaningful research and practice with AMENA populations.

The goals of this section are to:

1. Offer guidance and support on entering graduate programs and employment opportunities for Arab/MENA individuals.
2. Facilitate opportunities for students and early career professionals to develop mentoring relationships with more seasoned professionals, and develop mentoring programs.
3. Develop a database of potential thesis/dissertation supervisors and research mentors who have expertise relevant to Arab and MENA American populations.
4. Collaborate and network on events such as conference sessions and meetings.
5. Share resources, training, and professional development opportunities that are useful to professional development of Arab/MENA psychologists.
6. Disseminate information on scholarships, graduate funding, and early career fellowship opportunities.
